About Us

History

Zaluso Arts is a dynamic creative hub and arts collective, co-founded by Macpherson Ndalama in 2014 with seed funding from the Arts and Global Health Centre Africa’s “Students with Dreams” project. The collective was born to challenge the perception that visual arts could not be taken seriously in Malawi.

Today, Zaluso Arts has evolved beyond promoting individual artists. We are a thriving network of multi-talented young creatives who transform spaces, empower communities, and tackle pressing social issues through innovative artistic expression. From visual arts and digital media to VR experiences and socially-driven projects, we combine creativity with impact, offering platforms for young people to develop, showcase, and sustain their talents while contributing to positive change.

As an organization

Zaluso Arts exists to elevate the arts in Malawi and cultivate a thriving community where artists can connect, learn, and grow together. We are the bridge between creativity and opportunity — linking talented creators to clients, markets, and impactful projects.

Through collaborations with a network of over 100 multi-talented artists, we deliver work that enhances living and working environments while driving social transformation. Our portfolio spans murals, branding, installations, workshops, media production, and educational initiatives, with partnerships including Embassy of Iceland, University of Glasgow, UNDP, The American Embassy, British Council, Standard Bank, UNICEF, and others.

Over the years, these collaborations have strengthened our capacity to support artists, deliver high-quality creative work, and generate opportunities that combine professional growth with meaningful social impact. Zaluso Arts is steadily establishing itself as a regional leader in connecting creatives to fulfilling careers and innovative projects.
